INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORY OF LGBT+ POWERLIFTING

The LGBT Powerlifting Union was formed in 2017 with a view to progressing the opportunities for LGBT+ Powerlifters globally and providing representation within both LGBT+ sports organisations and mainstream Powerlifting Federations

The aim was to develop a “route to platform” for all LGBT+ Powerlifters from Novice Workshops, right through to competing at the world championships and winning medals. In 2019 we had our first LGBT IPC “Best Lifter” win a World Championship Gold Medal and break a world record at the World Powerlifting Championships in Slovakia.

Our approach is to promote LGBT+ Powerlifting, with all sections of our community represented, not just one individual or section of the community. This directory lists inclusive LGBT+ Community Groups, International Federations, National Affiliates and Powerlifting Clubs.

If you have any submissions or amendments for the International Directory of LGBT+ Powerlifting, please forward the details to Chris Morgan Co-President of the LGBT Powerlifting Union by email at chunky@chunkymuscle.com

We welcome submissions from all LGBT+ Friendly Powerlifting Clubs, Federations and National affiliates. All of those applying to be listed must have have active LGBT+ athletes as members and LGBT+ friendly policies within it’s rules or constitution.

Our adoption of the + symbol indicates we are open and welcoming to all regardless of gender or sexuality, including those who identify as Trans, Non Binary, Intersex, Queer, Cis Male, Cis Female and Gender Fluid. It also underlines our commitment to promoting good relationships with our mainstream and straight partners, without whom so much progress would not have been made over LGBT+ Issues during this last four years.
