LGBT IPC Weekend – Blackpool 2019  – FINAL PROGRAMME

Welcome to Blackpool 2019 !

Our “amazing” venue for this years event is Blackpool Sixth Form College, Blackpool Old Road, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY3 7LR.

The competition itself will take place in their high tech 300 seat theatre auditorium, which will mean LGBT IPC in 2019 will be an amazing show with stage lighting and music. We will also give plenty of room for your supporters, friends and friends to visit and support the event. All athletes and coaches will need to be registered in 2019 to gain access to warm up and competition areas.

There will be a “Healthy Living Cafe” all weekend onsite at the Championships and the Relish Canteen Area, catering for all of your nutrition needs. Be sure to check the Facebook Group for menu and opening times during the event.

Friday is a 24 hour! WEIGH IN TIMES – Weigh In 9am to 7pm

*** Saturday Weigh In Only By Arrangement with Chris Morgan ***

Weigh In: Strictly at 8am, lifters must report at the venue 7.45am and have pre-arranged this with Meet Director Chris Morgan. Nobody else will be able to agree this for you to Weigh In on Saturday morning.

*** (Lift off is strictly on Saturday at 9am if you are in Flight 1 or 2 on Saturday you are strongly advised to weigh in Friday) ***

RULES BRIEFING & COACHING CLINIC FOR LIFTERS

THIS EVENT IS INCLUDED IN THE WEEKEND REGISTRATION FEE  !

Time: 4pm to 6pm coaching clinic, with Rules Briefing To Finish Starting At 6pm. Any concerns over kit may be addressed during this meeting.

World Champions Powerlifters Chris Morgan and Charlotte Wareing will be hosting this free coaching and technical session for lifters.

POWERLIFTING COMPETITION – Lift Off 9am through to 7pm (Estimated Finish Time, venue opens at 8am)

LGBT International Powerlifting Championships – Blackpool 2019

THIS IS A NON SANCTIONED EVENT 

On this occasion we are using Internationally Recognised Rules, weight classes and age groups with the following amendments.

Closed Category for members of any internationally recognised drug tested Powerlifting or strength Federation.

Open Category for Powerlifters of other Federations and lifters who do not currently belong to any Powerlifting Federation. (Please note: HIV Positive athletes on medications and Trans athletes should enter the open category).

Novice Category for lifters that have never competed in ANY powerlifting competition before.

LGBT IPC is the first sporting event in the world to have MX third gender classes for Trans,  Non Binary and Intersex Participants.

There are no qualifying standards for this competition. All lifters are welcome regardless of experience, ability, sexuality, gender or health status.

Competition Day – Please note all events will run at the same time. (MAXIMUM ENTRY LEVEL IS 60 LIFTERS)

Athletes will either enter Full Power or up to two Single Lift events as we plan to run flights “Back to Back”!

Single Lift Deadlift (Equipped & Unequipped)

 *** Please note there will be community tickets for spectators priced at £5 each with all proceeds used for the development of LGBT Powerlifting. All athletes and coaches will need to be registered to be allowed access to official competition area. LGBT Powerlifting Congress – to discuss the future of LGBT Powerlifting

This meeting is to discuss us all working together towards powerlifting once again being part of Gay Games 2022 and also forthcoming multiple sport opportunities for Powerlifting.

Pride Sports “Outreach Development Workshop”

Theme – “Teamwork” !

Hosted By Lou Englefield of Pride Sports – This workshop is for Athletes, coaches, local community leaders to explore the development of both LGBT Powerlifting and LGBT Sports in your local communities.

LGBT IPC Closing Party 

Venue:  Funny Girls Cabaret, Dickson Road, Blackpool

Buffet Banquet Closing Party in private function area for up to 100 people at the World renowned “Funny Girls” Cabaret. Blackpool is the most LGBT and especially trans friendly town in the UK, with it’s many cabaret and show bars.

Tickets are now available at £22.50 including buffet and show. There is also be a cash bar for people to buy drinks. (Tickets available via Facebook and our website).
